PROUT's Socio-Economic Vision
a presentation in four consecutive workshops
based on the work of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar

Co-operatives and the private sector
A cornerstone of PROUT's socio-economic vision is the development of strong co-operative movements within the private sector. Co-operatives place power back in the hands of those that contribute directly to a consumer led economy. This workshop deals with how to achieve this changeover practically, and its impact on society.

After Capitalism: Prout’s Vision for a New World
Release of the new book with foreword by Noam Chomsky and contributions by Marcos Arruda, Frei Betto, Leonardo Boff, Ravi Batra, Johan Galtung e Sohail Inayatullah. Prout stands for the Progressive Utilization Theory, a new socio-economic model that responds to the question, “What kind of world do we want?” Prout proposes economic democracy, with an economy of the people, by the people and for the people, through cooperatives

Reclaiming EU from Big Business
The EU has promised high prosperity, but multinational corporations are the main beneficiaries. Local economies and regional cultural identity have been sacrificed to consumerism and quick profits. It is necessary to create practical reforms including economic democracy, fair trade, barter trade, cooperative ownership, local decision making, sustainable local agriculture and to nurture authentic culture.

The right to live! Guaranteed food, shelter, clothing, education and medical care for all.
Brief Meeting Description: Planet Earth has enough resources for everyone if we share, yet capitalist greed is destroying humanity. The first requirement of economic democracy is the guarantee of the five minimum necessities to everyone: food, clothing, shelter, education and medical care. The right to live has to be the biggest priority of our countries and our world. The socio-economic model of PROUT (the Progressive Utilization Theory) will achieve this dream.
